Previously, Holly, owner of Holly’s Homewares, utilized two meeting modules from GettaMeeting’s Employee Empowerment Series to train her team, resulting in an 8% increase in her returning customer rate and 20% increase in team alignment. Now, Holly has one module remaining to tackle one of her biggest challenges: organization.
Holly’s team is full of thorough, detail-oriented people, yet Holly failed to establish organized systems when she first launched her business. This created a poorly organized foundation that caused issues for her employees.
Holly and her team struggle to:
maintain their stock room, often wasting time searching through disorganized messes
track inventory levels, leading to too much stock, too few fast-selling products, or missed sales opportunities
Holly and her employees are ready for smooth day-to-day operations and an organized area for their product.
Generational diversity in the workplace is at an all-time high, with up to five unique age groups contributing different skills and experiences at work. With this diversity comes communication barriers, clashing values, and misunderstandings that hurt teams.
Bridging these generational gaps isn’t just an HR initiative – it’s a way to create thriving and cohesive teams capable of adapting to challenges. This article will explore the root causes of generational tension and share strategies, like reverse mentorship, to effectively close these gaps.
Since Holly’s business was now booming with loyal customers and a connected team that kept her business thriving, she used the remaining module in the Employee Empowerment series, “Get Organized: Mise en Place”, to tackle poorly designed systems.
The “Get Organized: Mise en Place” module helps teams create methods and routines for an efficient workplace. It focuses on organizing our time, tools, and thoughts to show up ready.
The module shares methods for building smarter routines, anticipating needs, and designing a more intentional way of working and living. It also:
Prepares your team for the unexpected
Instructs how to put everything in its place to increase productivity
Boosts leadership development and employee performance using fun activities
Teaches your team how to show up better prepared
Guides your team to make their processes more efficient
Teaches how to practice true presence to produce better routines
Holly decided to go all out for this last training module – a celebratory and fun session for her well-deserving team to complete the training with a bang.
To accomplish this, Holly downloaded the meeting enhancements PDF and made many of the suggestions come to life. She ordered some of the suggested decorations, food, meeting materials, and prizes, and created the curated playlist on her favorite music app.
When the day of the meeting came, Holly set the break room up using the decorations, notebooks and pens, and food. She played the playlist as her team entered the room.
She played the meeting video soon after, pausing when prompted for moments of reflection. Following the meeting, Holly hosted two of the team building games, awarding the winners with prizes.
What followed after the meeting astounded Holly.
Using what she and her employees learned, her team took on the huge task of reorganizing the stock room. At the same time, Holly revamped her inventory tracking system.
After the training session and both projects were completed, Holly noticed significant changes and improvements in her team (and herself), like:
Employees kept the stock room tidy and categorized, which reduced frustration and saved a lot of time every day as employees could locate items and quickly help customers
Holly gained more accountability and confidence in managing stock due to new tools and systems she learned and applied
Employees leaned in to the idea of working “smarter not harder” by streamlining tasks and effectively solving problems. Holly noted less absenteeism and a more joyful atmosphere, suggesting her employees are more satisfied with their jobs
Not only did Holly’s team thrive with the new knowledge from the “Get Organized” module, but her business reaped unexpected benefits, too, such as:
Fewer missed sales opportunities because items were no longer misplaced or impossible to locate, reduced stock damage, and more product was readily available for customers
Higher revenue because overstocking and understocking was minimized, and demand was finally being met
Growth was steady as more customers were returning, leaving positive reviews, and telling others about the store
Cost savings because of fewer mistakes, reduced waste, and sufficient stock levels
By the end of the year, Holly had saved thousands because of her inventory and stock room revamp, inspired and guided by GettaMeeting’s “Get Organized: Mise en Place” module.
Holly’s team now has a strong foundation to add on to, and Holly’s routines are up to date and easy to manage.
What’s in store for Holly and her business now? Continued growth, happy customers, and most importantly, empowered employees.
